Teaching the History of Cartography – New Opportunities and Challenges
ICA Working Group pre-conference workshop in cooperation with ICHC 2026
Prague, 6 July 2026 (Monday), 2:00–4:00 pm

The ICA Working Group on the History of Cartography invites contributions to a workshop revisiting the ICA’s 1980s tradition in light of current technological and societal transformations. We welcome practical, experience-based, and innovative approaches to teaching the history of cartography.

Topics may include digital access to historical maps, public engagement, critical cartographic literacy, global perspectives, and new methods and technologies.

Format: max.15-minute presentations followed by moderated discussion. Participation is free, but REGISTRATION is required.

Please submit your abstract (max. 300 words) by 10 May, 2026. Notification of acceptance: 20 May, 2026.
