Programme of the Meeting here: 2026 Prague Programme

The ICA Working Group on the History of Cartography warmly invites you to participate in its pre-conference meetig,Teaching the History of Cartography – New Opportunities and Challenges, held in Prague  on 6 July 2026 (Monday), 2:00–4:00 pm, in conjunction with the 2026 International Conference on the History of Cartography (https://ichc2026.org). The session will be built around short (c. 5-minute), informal contributions and open discussion.

We also welcome short contributions from ICHC participants — these may include good practices, personal experiences, work-in-progress, early ideas, or case-based reflections, including what worked and what didn’t. No formal presentation is required — slides are optional. The aim is to foster open exchange and discussion within the community. Contributions from early-career researchers and first-time presenters are especially welcome. Participation is free of charge.

Please note that a separate registration for this meeting was required.
Thank you for your registration – you will receive the confirmation message soon.
The session revisits the ICA’s 1980s tradition in light of current technological and societal transformations, with a focus on practical and innovative approaches to teaching the history of cartography. The programme will include short informal presentations followed by a moderated discussion aimed at sharing experiences and fostering future collaboration.
